CLUB GAMING POLICIES

Gambling Policy Statement

Boggabri RSL Club acknowledges the responsibility and privilage of holding a licence to operate gaming machines and other forms of gambling within the state of ew South Wales.  Our venue encourages the responsible use of gambling facilities within the Club and abides by the Club Gaming Code of Practice.

Definition

For the purpose of this policy, the club means Boggabri RSL Club.

Policy

Ther Board of Boggabri RSL Club have formally adopted the following policy statement and will always:

  • Ensure the provision and use of gambling products occur in a safe and enjoyable manner.
  • Boggabri RSL will prioritise customer welfare and sustainable gambling acrivities.
  • Boggabri RSL will adopt responsible  gambling and harm-minimisation measures in accordance with the Club Gaming Code of Practice, and
  • Boggabri RSL will promote the social and economic benefits of responsible gambling and the gaming industry.

Club-Initiated Exclusion Policy

Boggabri RSL complies with the requirements outlined in the Club Gaming Code of Parctice in relation to third-party exclusions.

Definition

For the purpose of this policy, the club means Boggabri RSL Club.

Policy

If the Club seeks to initiate a third-party exclusion, it must lodge an exclusion application with the Club’s responsible gambling provider (ClubSAFE), who will contact the person to be excluded.

In what circumstances may a club request a club-initiated exclusion?

  • A player displaying strong signs of problem gambling, for example:
  • Seeking credit for gambling
  • Admitting to borrowing money to gamble
  • Admitting to borrowing or stealing money to gamble
  • Leaving a minor unattended while playing gaming machines
  • The responsible Gambling Officer identifies that a person is recorded in the Gambling Incident Register multiple times

NB: If behaviour warrants it, such as damaging machines or abusing staff, the Club may, if a member, opt to ban the player through the disciplinary process under the Constitution.

A player can appeal a third-party exclusion to the adjudication Panel.

Minors in Gaming Areas Policy

Boggabri RSL complies with Section 52 of the Gaming Machine Act 2001 (NSW) which prohibits minors from being in a gaming area of the club.

Boggabri  RSL Club displays the appropriate signage concerning persons under 18 outside of any gaming area.

For the purpose of this policy, the club means Boggabri RSL Club.

Policy

If a person under the age of 18 years is observed in a gaming area of the club, staff are aware that the minor is to be removed immediately.  If a person is suspected of being under 18 years of age, such persons may be requested to produce documentary evidence of age.

Boggabri RSL will ensure that staff are provided with information about which areas of the club are age restricted areas including gaming areas and the relevant procedure if a person suspected of being under 18 years of age is observed in these areas.

Family-Initiated Exclusions Policy

Boggabri RSL complies with the requirements outlined in the Club Gaming Code of Parctice in relation to third-party exclusions.

Policy

A brochure featuring information on how to notify the Club of any concerns with a family member’s gambling activity is available from the club.

A family member who seeks to initiate a third-party exclusion must lodge an exclusion application with the Club’s responsible gambling provider (ClubSAFE), who will contact the Club to be excluded.

Who can request a family-initiated exclusion?

Spouse – Domestic Partner – Parent – Adult Child

Club staff MUST keep the identity of the family member seeking an exclusion confidential at all times.

A player can appeal third-party exclusions to the Adjudication Panel
